Leah, 12, diagnosed with leukaemia appealing for Christmas gifts for children at Alder Hey
 

A 12-year-old girl diagnosed with leukaemia is appealing for gifts to hand out to patients at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
Leah Whitehead, from Prescot, says she wants to make people smile like they made her smile when she was in the hospital having treatment at Christmas last year.
People from across the world have been contacting Leah on Facebook with gifts and messages of support.
Last week a lady, living in the USA, sent her mum, who lives in the UK, to meet Leah back on Merseyside and give her presents for the Alder Hey patients.
