Not many wanted the Chesterfield manager's job when Gary Caldwell was sacked in September. But Lester had strong links, having played for the club for six years. At first it seemed he had no chance of helping them beat the drop. Now, unbeaten since October, a 2-1 win over Barnet has them out of the bottom two places.
