Lancaster MP Cat Smith calls for government funding for local flood defences

Lancaster MP Cat Smith has launched a campaign urging members of the public to support her letter to the Chancellor to secure funds for flood defences in Lancaster.
After visiting local businesses on the Lansil Industrial Estate and along Caton Road in the months after Storm Desmond, Ms Smith met with the Environment Agency (EA) to discuss flood prevention in the city.
The EA have plans, the first phase of which would take place on the Caton Road stretch of the River Lune and the cost is £11million.
