Lancashire make vital strikes



Lancashire built a strong position against Warwickshire during a tension-filled second session of their Specsavers County Championship survival battle at Edgbaston.
Put in, Warwickshire reached tea on 165 for six having found the going tough against a ball which swung, spun and was accurately deployed by the visiting bowlers.
Warwickshire resumed after lunch on 83 for three, having lost Ian Westwood (0), Alex Mellor (27) and Jonathan Trott (25) in the morning, and advanced to 105 before losing two wickets in five balls.
