Laird's boss on RRS Sir David Attenborough: 'If we do this right, we will write our own history"



It was a day the likes of which hasn’t been seen at any British shipyard for three decades.
This morning’s keel-laying ceremony at Cammell Laird , for the RRS Sir David Attenborough, both tapped into the shipyard’s near 190-year history and looked forward into the future.
Britain’s new, state-of-the-art polar research vessel is the 1,390th keel to be laid at the Birkenhead shipyard.
