Labour welcome victory as public sector workers set for proper pay rise after Sturgeon scraps cap
 

Public sector workers in Scotland will get a long-overdue pay boost next year when Nicola Sturgeon scraps the one per cent cap on wage rises.
The increase for NHS staff, teachers, civil servants and other employees will be the flagship policy of the First Minister’s programme for government, which she will unveil tomorrow.
Sturgeon has been under intense pressure from Labour and the trade union movement to lift the cap.
During the Westminister election campaign the SNP leader accepted the planned seven-year pay cap was “unsustainable”.
