Labour suffer double by-election blow after losing two council seats to the SNP and Lib Dems
 

LABOUR suffered a double by-election blow yesterday as they lost two council seats to the SNP and the Lib Dems.
Chris Cunningham, brother of Environment Secretary Roseanna Cunningham , took a seat for the SNP in a Glasgow’s Garscadden/Scotstounhill ward – a former Labour heartland.
And Trish Robertson took a Highland Council seat in Culloden and Ardersier for the Lib Dems.
Labour were beaten into second in the Glasgow City Council race and a humiliating seventh in the Highlands.
The by-elections are a grim sign for Labour ahead of the local authority elections next year.
