Labour MP in attack on Virgin Care over 'double appointments'



Virgin Care is imposing a system of double appointments on patients in a bid to artificially increase its income from the NHS, an MP has claimed.
Labour's Paula Sherriff said the private health contractor has introduced extra consultations ahead of minor surgery at a cost of more than £100 a time since taking over the NHS dermatology service in West Yorkshire.
Ms Sherriff, who worked for the service before becoming an MP, said it was among "many unethical practices" she witnessed.
