Kyle Edmund is the last Brit left standing in both the men’s and women’s draws after a fine 7-5 6-2 7-6 (7-4) win against home favourite Steve Johnson.
The world No. 42 saw off a man ranked four places beneath him in the Louis Armstrong Stadium in what was another impressive display.
Having taken out 32nd seed Robin Haase, Edmund has now taken out two experience ATP stars and he looks well placed to provide a serious challenge to either Jo-Wilfried Tsonga or talented teenager Denis Shapovalov in the last-32.
