Kodi court case: Middlesbrough trader to make legal history today over Android boxes
 

A Middlesbrough man is set to make legal history today as he challenges the legality of Android - or Kodi - boxes.
Brian ‘Tomo’ Thompson will appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court this afternoon accused of selling so-called ‘pre-loaded’ set-top boxes.
It is understood to be first case of its type in Britain , and could set a legal precedent as to what can - and can’t - be watched on the devices.
Android - or Kodi - boxes allow users to stream subscription content, such as Premier League football and blockbuster films, free of charge.
