Junior whips jump ship after Winterton sacked



LABOUR whips Conor McGinn and Holly Lynch resigned yesterday following the sacking of chief whip Rosie Winterton in Jeremy Corbyn’s front-bench reshuffle.
Sources close to the Labour leader insist that Mr McGinn was set to be sacked when junior posts in the reshuffle were announced.
A Labour source said: “No-one will lose any sleep over Conor McGinn resigning after the disloyalty he showed in organising resignations during the attempted coup.”
Mr McGinn was reportedly at the centre of June’s coup, co-ordinating front-bench malcontents so their resignations would do maximum damage.
