It is less than an hour’s drive from Wigan to Sale — but Josh Charnley knows his code-switching journey across Greater Manchester could be lined with danger.
The winger will bid a grand farewell to rugby league after Saturday's Grand Final, 12 years after arriving at his first training session as an underweight 13-year-old.
He will make an identical switch to Jason Robinson and is determined to follow in the footsteps of ‘Billy Whizz’, rather than the recent trail of destruction of Sam Burgess.
