Jockey Henry Brooke out of induced coma after fall at Hexham Racecourse
 

A jockey injured in a fall at Hexham on Saturday is out of his induced coma.
Henry Brooke was riding Old Storm when he fell at the second fence during a two-and-a-half-mile handicap chase in the 2.25pm race.
Another horse appeared to strike him on the head with its hoof as he lay on the ground.
Racing was stopped for nearly two hours while doctors treated the stricken jockey and the Great North Air Ambulance was called but he was instead taken by land ambulance to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, in Newcastle , where he was put in an induced coma.
