Jimmy Armfield tributes pour in despite Blackpool v Charlton being called off due to waterlogged pitch

The game against Charlton Athletic which was to have commemorated the life of Jimmy Armfield did not go ahead because of a waterlogged pitch.
However nothing could diminish the acts of remembrance to him in Blackpool, where he served the club and town so passionately for so long.
Floral tributes to the 82-year-old, who died last week, filled the plinth beneath his statue, which was adorned with the scarves of scores of clubs: from Leeds to Arsenal, Bolton to West Ham.
