Jimmy Anderson will not be fit in time for the first Test in India, according to captain Alastair Cook.
England’s spearhead is still recovering from a stress fracture of his right shoulder, which ruled him out of the first Test against Pakistan in the summer and the current trip to Bangladesh.
Anderson had hoped to be fully recovered in time for the Rajkot Test starting on November 9, but Cook admitted: ‘I don’t think he will be there for the start.
