Jeremy Corbyn promised a “Socialism for the 21st century” as he gave his closing keynote speech of the Labour party conference in Liverpool.
The speech was littered with references to the city of Liverpool and even invoked the memory of Liverpool FC footballing legend Bill Shankly.
The Labour leader was introduced to the stage by the Hillsborough campaigner Sheila Coleman who told the conference that Jeremy Corbyn’s re-election is “key” to Labour’s success.
She also paid tribute to the party and council for supporting the campaign for Justice for the 96.
