JD Sports buys UK outdoor equipment retailer Go Outdoors for £112m
 

The £112.3million cash deal will add Sheffield-based company’s 58 stores to JD’s existing chains, including Blacks and Millets, giving the group about 240 outlets selling outdoor clothing and equipment.
JD is also taking on £16million of debt.
Go Outdoors, which is undergoing a multi-million-pound expansion and increasing its focus on cycling, was put up for sale earlier this year.
It made a pre-tax profit of £4.9million on revenue of £202.2million in the 53 weeks to January 31.
Paul Caplan and John Graham will leave the business they set up in 1998 when the acquisition is completed.
