James Tavernier close to agreeing new long-term deal with Rangers after negotiations with director of football Mark Allen progress positively

James Tavernier is close to agreeing a new long-term contract with Rangers in what would be a significant boost to the Ibrox side.
Manager Graeme Murty revealed last week that discussions over a fresh deal were ongoing with the 26-year-old he rates as 'the best right-back in the country'.
