James McArthur 'gutted' Scotland could not defeat Lithuania and is ready to step in for injured Darren Fletcher

James McArthur believes his late equaliser against Lithuania has kept Scotland’s World Cup campaign on track and told manager Gordon Strachan that he is ready to stand in for injured captain Darren Fletcher in Tuesday’s crucial visit to Slovakia.
The Crystal Palace midfielder replaced Fletcher, who suffered a dead leg, at half-time in the 1-1 Hampden draw and cancelled out Fiodor Cerncych’s 59th minute opener with a final minute header that ended up going into the net off his left shoulder.
