The 25-year-old Notts quick bowler became the first player to take five wickets on his international debut.
And Adil Rashid wasn’t far behind as he chipped in with a career-best 4-49 plus a run out for the other wicket.
But in all honesty Bangaldesh should have cruised to victory after putting themselves in a great position to beat Jos Buttler’s new-look side.
It all looked to be going wrong when new skipper Buttler dropped a simple chance from Imrul Kayes off Ball with the home side on 253-4.
