Jail for the phoney wine trader who splashed out on hot tubs, Bentleys and fancy shoes



A fraudster who claimed to trade in fine wines but instead conned investors out of almost £3million to buy fast cars and expensive trainers has been jailed.
Jonothan 'Jonny' Piper, 30, pretended to be a wine broker and promised returns of up to 200 per cent to elderly investors who handed over their fine vintages.
Piper, who pleaded guilty in court, sold the collections and broke off contact with investors, pocketing the cash which he spent on Bentleys and Mercedes.
