'It gives him freedom' - dementia patient, 90, learns to swim again at Lincolnshire pool



A 90-year-old man battling the devastating effects of dementia has learned how to swim again, thanks to special sessions at a Lincolnshire pool.
Qualified swim teachers at Meridian Leisure Centre in Louth are injecting new life into their elderly clients in weekly hour-long fun and exercise sessions.
The specialist team at the pool, which is operated by the Magna Vitae Trust, are running the water-based activities.
They end with lunch in the centre’s cafe for those living with dementia, along with relatives and carers.
