Isa conundrum: Should I save into a Lifetime Isa and would my Help-to-Buy Isa be closed if I do?

I have a Help-to-Buy Isa but have heard a lot about the newer Lifetime Isa that came out more recently. 
I've seen some people say the Lifetime one is a better option. 
Am I allowed to open one but also keep my Help to Buy Isa as well? 
What would happen to my Help to Buy one if I open the Lifetime one?
