​Is this father-of-three Leicester's worst chef? Bassam's red velvet cake became 'volcano of sludge'



A PhD student from Leicester is in line to be crowned the worst chef in Britain.
Bassam Al-Yaseen, who is studying environmental biology at the University of Leicester, has been chosen to compete in the Kenwood Disaster Chef competition.
The 36-year-old from Stoneygate, has been put on national shortlist of 10 after being nominated by a friend.
Father-of-three Bassam tried to bake a red velvet sponge cake for his wife Saja on Valentine's Day but ended up creating a foul-tasting eyesore.
