Irvine Running Club veteran wins gold at British Masters Championships
 

Golden oldie John McGarry capped a terrific week for Irvine Running Club by clinching 100m gold at the British Masters Track Championships in Birmingham.
The veteran athlete took the M65 title with a superb winning time of 13.7 seconds, then followed that up by claiming silver in the 200m in a time of 28.32 seconds.
The success comes just two months after he won double gold at the Scottish Masters Championship.
Tom Begley also helped put the club on the map this week when he teamed up with Alasdair McCallum for the Mourne mountain marathon in Northern Ireland.
