'Irreplaceable' 19th century jewellery stolen from elderly woman in Durham burglary
 

‘Irreplaceable’ jewellery including a 19th century gold necklace was stolen from an elderly woman’s house during a burglary in Durham last week.
16 pieces of jewellery including necklaces, bracelets, cufflinks and earrings were stolen during the theft in Peterlee last week .
The property, in the Oakerside Park area, was targeted sometime between October 2 and October 4, leaving the elderly owner devastated.
The item of most sentimental value is a 14ct gold bracelet, which was originally a watch chain dating from 1890.
