Instructor not registered ‘to give driving lessons’



FRAUDSTER John Hurley pocketed hundreds of pounds from learner drivers – despite no longer being registered as a driving instructor.
The 58-year-old continued to charge for driving lessons over four months last year.
But it emerged Hurley had earlier being removed from the Driving Vehicle Standards Agency's (DVSA) register of instructors.
Now the defendant – who had been a driving instructor for 15 years – has been ordered to repay the £694 he fraudulently claimed back to his clients.
