Inquest into death of woman whose car plunged into Waterloo Dock is adjourned

An inquest into the death of a woman whose car plunged into Waterloo Dock has been postponed as her son was unable to attend.
The inquest of Jeanette Wilkinson, 77, was due to be held at the Gerard Majella Courthouse in Kirkdale but was adjourned as her son was out of the country.
Assistant coroner David Lewis said that due to a misunderstanding Mr Wilkinson was not there for the hearing and was about to board a plane in Barcelona.
He said: “It simply wouldn’t be proper or appropriate in the circumstances to proceed without him.”
Mr Wilkinson was due to appear as a witness.
