'Iconic poppies display will boost Stoke-on-Trent's UK City of Culture bid'



The arrival of the iconic First World War poppy display has been hailed as a major boost to Stoke-on-Trent's bid to be named UK City of Culture 2021.
It was announced yesterday that the stunning installation would be coming to the Potteries where many of the ceramic flowers were following a two-and-a-half year campaign.
Now community leaders believe the coup will raise Stoke-on-Trent's profile in the run-up to a decision being announced on the City of Culture bid by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
