Ice skating rink cut from Glasgow's George Square Christmas event this year
 

THE traditional ice skating rink has been cut from this year's Glasgow's George Square Christmas event.
Organisers Glasgow Life say the decision was made after seeing a fall in the number of people using the facility in recent years.
The measure was approved by Glasgow City Council in March after it stated it would save £800,000, with Glasgow Life now confirming that a Christmas market will take its place instead.
Around 25,000 people are estimated to use the rink, which is part of the Glasgow Loves Christmas event.
