Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez has confirmed he held talks with Arsenal in the summer but opted to stay with the Foxes because he was ‘too expensive’ for the Gunners.
The Algerian was named PFA player of the year last season after inspiring Claudio Ranieri’s side to their first league title in the club’s history.
The 25-year-old was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates and Arsene Wenger was keen to bring Mahrez’s team-mate, Jamie Vardy, with him.
