'I might not be Gareth Malone, but we've done well' - 89-year-old Low Fell conductor says goodbye

When Jean Stevenson first joined the Low Fell Singers things were a bit different.
“They get away with murder nowadays” the 89-year-old singer said. “In the older days it was much stricter.”
Jean has been a member of the choir for 60 years, but she is now planning to step aside after bringing pleasure to thousands over the years.
The Fenham pensioner juggled a family, a teaching job and two choirs.
She said: “I joined the choir as a chorister in 1955 and then became the conductor in 1984.
