'I feel like a superhero': Girl who lost arms to crippling meningitis helps develop prosthetic limbs



An 11-year-old ‘superhero’ who overcame the loss of her hands to meningitis is helping design the next generation of bionic hands for amputees.
Tilly Lockey lost both hands after developing Group B meningococcal septicaemia in 2007.
Since then Tilly has travelled the world raising awareness of the complications that can follow meningitis, and fundraising for her own prosthetic hands – which can cost up to £20,000 a set.
