SUSPENSION of Syrian and Russian bombing raids against insurgent targets in Aleppo in the run-up to their unilateral eight-hour cessation of hostilities tomorrow provides an important opportunity to be grasped.
It builds on the inconclusive talks held at the weekend between governments supporting various sides in the Syrian conflict and on the little-reported proposal by New Zealand at Monday’s UN security council meeting.
