Humpback whale calf pushes its stranded mother to safety
 

A humpback whale calf helped free its mother from a sandbank in Australia by pushing her to safety.
Mother who ‘fed her baby only fruits and nuts’ facing charges The whale was stranded off North Stradbroke Island in shallow water and its calf was seen trying to nudge her to safety.
Video footage shows both animals pushing and splashing their tails in an attempt to free her from a bank.
Finally after nearly an hour of struggling, the humpback whale managed to move into deeper water and free itself.
