Hull vicar accuses LGBT community of 'hijacking words like pride and gay'
 

A city vicar has slammed his fellow clergy at Hull Minster for hosting a special service to mark Hull Pride and the LGBT 50 celebrations.
The service was held last week on the eve of a week-long programme of LGBT-themed events as part of the City of Culture year.
But Reverend Melvin Tinker, the vicar at St John, Newland in north Hull, said Hull Minster should not have hosted the event.
Two years ago he caused controversy by comparing homosexuality to paedophilia and adultery in an interview over York Minister's plans to support a LGBT Pride march in the city.
