Hull is least prosperous city in UK but 'resurrection' is coming



Hull is the least prosperous city in the UK according to a new report.
The UK Prosperity Index found "deep rooted failure by all levels of government" and the 1970s collapse of the fishing industry had contributed to the city's "loss of prosperity". It also highlighted authority boundaries were an issue, and said Hull had a "striking poverty of aspiration."
