Hull City writer Brad Rial looks at what we learned from the 2-0 home defeat to Chelsea at the KCOM Stadium.
City are still searching for the right balance in midfield Against Chelsea, City lined up in more or less the same formation they have fielded all season, a 4-3-3/4-5-1 hybrid. It worked in the first half, with the Tigers creating some decent openings, while at the same time preventing the visitors from having a single shot on target.
But after the break, City lost their shape, as Ryan Mason admitted post-match. Both goals were avoidable from the home team's perspective.
