Hull City and the giant superdome



When big Don Robinson took over at Hull City in the early 1980s, the club was on its knees. The team might have been showing signs of promise but off the pitch, the Tigers were virtually bankrupt.
The flamboyant chairman took the reins in 1982 and immediately set about reviving the club, helping earn promotion in his first full season.
But it is in the ideas department where the Scarborough-based businessman would become a legend. Never one for playing it safe and looking for the easy option, Robinson was always thinking big and this would carry on throughout his life.
