Huge savings black hole revealed: How 17m Britons have less than £100 put away for a rainy day



Nearly 17million people of working age across Britain have less than £100 in savings available, shock research has found.
Two-fifths of working age people lack a decent savings buffer, with less than £100 in savings available to them at any particular time, according to a poll by the Money Advice Service. This equates to 16.8million people across the UK.
In Northern Ireland, Wales, the West Midlands, the North East of England and Yorkshire and the Humber, more than half of people do not have more than £100 in savings.
