How 'virtual unwrapping' could reveal history's biggest secrets: Technique to show hidden text in ancient scrolls



Last month, archaeologists used a 'virtual unwrapping' technique to see hidden text on a burned 1,500-year-old Hebrew scroll without opening it.
The En-Gedi ancient book had untouchable, disintegrating sheets, making it extremely difficult to see the ink-based writings within.
The researchers now believe that the same technique could be applied to other ancient scrolls, giving us a glimpse into an undiscovered past.
