The average 18-year-old in Yorkshire and the Humber might be able to look forward to doubling their wages over their career.
Those aged 18 to 21 working full-time earned a median wage of £14,000 in 2015, according to figures from the Office for National Statistics, a pay rise of 3.1% compared to 2014.
The highest average wage in the region was for those aged 40 to 49, at £28,618, with a 1.9% pay rise compared to 2014.
The bottom 10% of 18 to 21-year-olds earns £8,526 a year or less, while the top 10% of 40 to 49-year-olds in the region earn £52,978 or more a year.
