Hop to it! Watch Disney's one legged hopping 'pogobot' try and stay upright



One-legged hopping robots have helped scientist study 'dynamic balance' for decades, but are limited as they are tethered to off-board power – until now.
Disney Research has designed the first-ever one-legged hopping robot that runs entirely on lithium batteries.
To 'cut the tether', the team created a lightweight on-board microcomputer that lets the foot tall robot balance for approximately seven seconds, or hop 19 times.
