Homeowners urged to be vigilant against fraudsters using the Grenfell Tower fire to flog overpriced or useless fire prevention services

Fraudsters are reportedly using the Grenfell Tower fire tragedy in June to con homeowners and housing associations into buying fire prevention services that either don’t exist or aren’t necessary.
The warning is from Action Fraud and it’s also urging people to watch out for fraudsters posing as council officials or fire prevention officers.
It comes after reports that criminals are cold calling people and even visiting homes across the country to offer these services following on from the fire.
