Homeless charity the Whitechapel Centre handed Freedom of the City
 

The Whitechapel Centre has been awarded Liverpool’s highest honour.
The homeless charity was granted the freedom of the city after more than 40 years of helping some of Liverpool’s most vulnerable people.
Its name was added to the prestigious Freedom Rolls at a special town hall ceremony on Tuesday night.
Set up in 1975, the Whitechapel Centre plays a frontline role in the city’s efforts to combat homelessness.
