Holidaymakers get less than one euro to the pound at airport currency desks as sterling continues to suffer



Currency desks at popular airports across Britain are offering less than one euro to the pound after sterling suffered a 'flash crash' overnight on the currency markets.
As the pound continues to suffer from fears over Brexit, the euro rate has crumbled to €0.97 for a pound at the Moneycorp desk at London Southend Airport – and that is without commission which is charged for any forex purchase under £300.
It means travellers parting with £500 will get just €485 in return, making their trip to Europe far more expensive than earlier in the year.
