Historic lights overlooking Sunderland memorial spruced up ahead of remembrance services
 

Lights illuminating one of Sunderland’s most iconic monuments have been spruced up.
The four historic lamps have lit up the Burdon Road War memorial since the 1920s.
And a good refurbishing, painting and shot-blasting later, they should be good to go for a long time yet.
The work has been completed in time for Armistice Day and Remembrance Day commemoration events on November 11 and 13.
