Hillsborough victims to be granted Freedom of the City in Liverpool



The 96 victims of the 1989 Hillsborough Disaster are to be granted Freedom of the City in Liverpool.
Last month inquests into the deaths of the 96 Liverpool fans concluded fans at the FA Cup Semi-Final had not been responsible for the tragedy - instead ruling the victims were unlawfully killed.
The Crown Prosecution Service are now considering whether to press criminal charges as a result of the verdicts.
Among the victims set to be honoured is Paul Murray, from Meir, who was 14.
It is the first time Liverpool has granted its highest civic honour posthumously.
