Highlanders warned to be aware of counterfeit banknotes following incidents in Inverness and Nairn
 

PEOPLE living in the Highlands to be watchful for counterfeit banknotes following recent incidents in Inverness and Nairn.
Police Scotland say those who are employed in shops or regularly handle cash should be particularly aware.
Officers say currency, including First Trust Bank £50 notes which bear the serial number AA294395, is being tendered for low cost items and are later being found to be counterfeit.
The warning comes after two further cases have been reported in the Inverness city area.
