Hero stung by jellyfish as he saved a man’s life in South Shields
 

A hero saved a man’s life by dragging him out of the sea despite being stung by a jellyfish as he swam to rescue him.
As Paul Finney and his partner walked along the coast in South Shields one evening, they spotted a 23-year-old in the water and shouted to the unresponsive man.
Paul leapt into action, diving into the sea and swimming out to help while his partner Jillian called the police.
A strong swimmer, Paul, managed to overcome the dangerous late-night sea conditions and drag the man back to shore, even after being stung by a jellyfish on the way.
